Jeans or what is popularly known as Denims was invented by Jacob W. Davis in partnership with Levi Strauss & Co. in 1871.
Yes, you read it right this happening yet comfy blue trousers has come a long way and still it has never faded out of fashion scene.
These famous ‘Blue jeans’ which are fashion statement now were not that famous as fashionable wear but were very famous among miners and ranchers back then and they were known as “Overalls”.

Riga, then Russian Empire, today Latvia, in 1831.
Once Jacob who was a tailor by profession, got a request by a client on how he should make stronger working pants for labourers.
So he started off making pair of pants with tough duck cotton and later he switched to denim cotton. And soon the demand was way high than his supply.
Jacob met Levi to explained about the ever rising demand of stronger work pants for workers. So they teamed up to create a best and strong work pants which will be known for its strength.
Jacob W. Davis and Levi Strauss decided one day to patent the same and jeans got its inventor with patent on May 20, 1873.
Later Strauss who always wanted to start off garment business had set up a nice shop in San Francisco so that he can produce davis’ pants. And even Davis agreed for the same and sifted to USA to run the shop with Strauss. And now that small shop is one of the biggest manufacturing plants of jeans.
